Blessed: Hippy Chic Leather by Benedetta Moruzzi

 

 

Benedetta always knew what she wanted.
She knew since when, on high school's desks, she drew glamourous and sophisticated ladies' wiry silhouettes; she knew since when, 15 years old, she told about Milan and fashion to people, like me, who didn't know anything about it yet; she knew since when Grunge spread all over the world and, on the other hand, she wisely mixed up ethnic african necklaces, heritage of her grandmother, zebra-striped leathers found in home trunks and her mother's chinese silk, creating an unusual and indescribable style that, fifteen years later, will be known as radical chic, hippie chic, ecc ecc.
Benedetta was Born this way, with a natural tast and sense of beauty, wild and rough, but even patient and disciplinate, deeply in love with a specific fashion style that maybe gas more to do with art and mind than with glamour and trends.
Benedetta Moruzzi created Blessed (word pun referring both to her name and to a kind of ironic "good luck" to who will wear her clothes), a brand that tells a life and a style through leather as key component of Tuscany, that she particularly loves and where she lives in, through pure handcraft, through the total absence of seasonal collections because her clothes are unique and evergreen, and through an important effort of research and style made on her collection and on its figure, pursued together with photographers and models, with whom Benedetta cooperates and shares intense and important pieces of life. They often are friends, fellow travellers, casual flashes or chance encounters.

Benedetta ha sempre saputo quello che voleva. Lo sapeva da quando sui banchi del liceo disegnava silouettes filiformi di raffinate signorine glamour, lo sapeva quando a 15 anni raccontava di Milano e della moda a chi ,come me, ancora non ne sapeva niente, e lo sapeva quando tutto il mondo era in pieno periodo Grunge, e lei invece mischiava sapientemente collane etniche africane ereditate dalla nonna, pellami zebrati trovati nei bauli di casa e sete cinesi di sua madre dando vita ad uno stile inusuale ed indescrivibile che 15 anni dopo avremmo chiamato Radical chic, hippie chic,  etno chic e bla bla bla.  Benedetta è nata così, con un innato gusto e senso del bello, selvatica e selvaggia ma anche disciplinata e paziente, con un profondo amore per un certo tipo di moda che forse ha più a che vedere con l’arte e l’intelleto che con il glamour  e le tendenze.

Benedetta Moruzzi ha creato Blessed ( gioco di parole che inneggiano al suo nome ma anche ad una sorta di ironico in bocca al lupo per chi indosa le sue creazioni) un marchio che racconta una vita ed uno stile, attraverso la pelle come materiale chiave della Toscana terra a lei molto cara e dove vive ad oggi, attraverso l’artigianalità  a km zero, attraverso la totale assenza di collezioni legate ad una stagione perché i suoi capi sono unici e senza tempo, ed attraverso l’importante lavoro di ricerca e stile che viene fatto sulla collezione e sull’immagine di quest’ultima con il lavoro di fotografi e modelle con cui Benedetta collabora e scambia momenti di vita intensi ed importanti perché spesso sono amici, compagni di viaggio, folgorazioni casuali e incontri fortuiti.
